The cord also is now located in a locked compartment as an added safety feature.

The 2016 Chevrolet Volt PHEV will be introduced to the public at the Detroit Auto Show in January, 2015. The price of the vehicle has not yet been revealed although the base model is expected to begin at just over $38,500. 2016 Chevrolet Volt PHEV is also introducing a new high-tech charging technology that will help to ensure drivers pay the least amount for their electricity when charging up at home. The new charging interface allows drivers to input info about their home electrical system and rates. This one-time bit of typing will mean the car can wait to charge until lower peak hours are in effect. 2016 Chevrolet Volt PHEV which at least in theory should save the driver’s money. The downside for drivers is that the Volt still doesn’t have a fast-charge option, so a bit of planning is required to charge the batteries. Which can be a problem, depending on the customers and their schedule.

The interior materials are of a medium grade and the instrumentation and audio packages are still lagging behind those found in rival PHEV’s. But the base package does include three free years of the OnStar road support message system and the car’s GPS technology continues to be first rate. In other words, if you’re buying the 2016 Chevrolet Volt PHEV, it’s not for the fancy interior or the cutting edge design. It is a steady, workmanlike vehicle that’s most impressive feature is its power system.
